About this Position

The Application Engineer reporting to the ACM Southeast Asia Application Engineering Manager is responsible for providing technical support for the ACM business within the General Manufacturing and MRO segments in Malaysia. The role focuses on delivering application expertise on adhesives and dispensing equipment, supporting customer inquiries, conducting training for internal sales and distributors, troubleshooting application and equipment issues, and supporting sales initiatives through structured Group Selling Activities.

What you´ll do

Technical & Application Support

• Provide timely and effective technical support to customers on adhesive selection, application processes, and dispensing equipment.
• Troubleshoot adhesive and equipment-related issues at customer sites, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Support MRO-related inquiries, including maintenance, repair, and optimization of adhesive applications and equipment.
• Documentation for application findings, solutions, and best practices for internal knowledge sharing.

Customer Engagement

• Respond to customer technical inquiries and support requests related to LOCTITE products and solutions.
• Conduct on-site and remote customer trials, demonstrations, and validations as required.
• Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Conduct technical training and product application training for:

ØInternal Sales teams

ØDistributors and channel partners

• Develop and maintain training materials, application notes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide technical coaching to Sales to strengthen application-level selling capabilities.

Sales Support & Group Selling Activities

• Support Sales during Group Selling Activities, including but not limited to:

ØIPS (In Plant Seminar)

ØLine surveys

ØMRW (Maintenance, Repair & Workshop)

ØPlant surveys

• Identify application improvement opportunities that can lead to sell-in of ACM solutions.
• Provide technical input for proposals, solution recommendations, and customer presentations.

Internal Collaboration

• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to support business growth initiatives.
• Provide field feedback on customer needs, application gaps, and competitive activities.
• Support new product introductions by validating applications and supporting early customer adoption.
