  • Connect existing applications and implement new components in the Adhesive Innovation Ecosystem using modern data integration tools on Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Design and implement streaming data and ETL pipelines using Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Apache Kafka, or similar tools
  • You build it; you run it: Bring your code into production using Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Take care of quality requirements like performance, availability, and security
  • Define the data engineering tool stack for the Adhesive Innovation Ecosystem together with our central data platform team
  • Advise, mentor, and coach other team members on best practices and standards
  • Actively work with business users, stakeholders, and external SaaS providers to identify needs and opportunities.
  • Work across the usual data engineering stack in a cross-functional team


  • Master's degree in a computer science or other STEM field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the field of data engineering and Infrastructure as Code
  • Excellent coding skills in relevant languages and ecosystems in NodeJS, Python, Java, or Scala
  • In-depth understanding of streaming and batch data pipelines (e.g. Apache Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or comparable frameworks), data-intensive applications, and distributed systems and ability to design these cooperatively with software architects and engineers
  • Database know-how in leading RDBMS and document-oriented databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Google Cloud Datastore, or comparable databases)
  • Experience in operating ETL pipelines on Google Cloud Platform using Cloud Dataproc or Cloud Dataflow
  • Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines and setting up cloud infrastructure using Terraform
  • Ability to collaborate closely with non-technical teams
